Mr Abdulla Shareef Commissioner GeneralMaldives Customs Service

Mr. Abdulla Shareef has been appointed as the Commissioner General of Customs (CG) on 23rd June 2020. Prior to the post he had served as the Deputy Commissioner of Customs from 08th July 2019. Aside from the responsibilities as the Commissioner General he has represented MCS in several boards, such as Human Trafficking Committee, appointed by the President, he also chairs MCS Operations Management Board, Advisory Board, Human Resource Management Board and Appeal Committee.

CG has worked in the Customs field for over 25 years. He has climbed in the ranks starting from the bottom to the very top. In his years in Customs, he filled the shoes of an operational officer and worked as a supervisor in different fields. He has the advantage of having an in-depth knowledge of customs that comes with several years of experience. He has completed his academics, and achieved a Masters in Customs Administration, adding more to his vast knowledge. Aside from the operational work, he has been the Vice President of our Customs Recreational Club in 2005 till 2008. Over the years he has worked as an instructor in the field of Enforcement, integrity, and Green Customs, for Customs officers and dispersed his knowledge. It comes to show the commitment he has to the administration.
